10 Minute Workout for Women Over 40

Working out with a buddy is fun! This 10 minute workout alternates between strength and cardio exercises. Each exercise interval is done for 50 seconds with 10 seconds to rest. One partner does cardio and the other does the strength exercise, then you switch. This is a great workout for women over 40 and women over 50. The rebounder allows you to get heart pumping cardio and lower body toning with little impact to the joints. Jumping exercises are so important to do if you can because they help women over 40 or over 50 prevent age related muscle loss, “sarcopenia.”

If you have a rebounder (mini trampoline), you will use that for cardio. But you can simply do body weight exercises like jumping jacks, jumping rope, or any cardio machine you have available. For a small home gym, and women with limited time, a rebounder is a great piece of equipment to have for interval training.

For the strength exercises you need a kettlebell or a moderately heavy dumbbell and a lighter pair of dumbbells.

This is a great workout to do on vacation or in a really small gym with your partner.
